Unique and Wonderfully Fun!
Hello Lovely Couple,
As you know, weddings are certainly becoming more and more focused on guest experience, along with non-traditional food and drink experiences to ensure a memorable event. Whether that means serving snacks before the ceremony, including an elaborate grazing table at cocktail hour or offering zero-proof cocktails at the bar, there are plenty of ways to do something unique—and one increasingly popular option is the food truck wedding.
If you’re considering a food truck wedding, here’s a few things to consider:
- What do I need to consider when it comes to parking the food truck?
If the main meal at your event will be served from a food truck, you’ll need a space that’s large enough to accommodate the truck but isn’t too far away from your guests’ tables.
DuGaren Venues & Vineyards: “Our Venue has two (2) Food Truck pads both conveniently located on each side of our Venue for easy access from our Winery space and our Reception space.â€
- How many guests does this work for?
The largest guest count recommended for a single food truck is 150. For anything bigger, you’ll want to book multiple trucks to avoid excessive wait times.
DuGaren Venues & Vineyards: “We’ve got food truck pads available for more than one food truck. Another idea is to have your food truck vendor provide side item on a separate table or along our open-air serving bar so that guests have something to munch on while they wait for their name to be called.â€
- Should I decorate the truck to blend in with my wedding decor?
The short answer: no. You’re likely booking the truck because it’s a fun and unique experience—lean into that! If incorporating your theme is important, trying including a sign or menu beside the truck that matches your decor.
DuGaren Venues & Vineyards: “Our on-site Wedding Planner can assist with incorporating décor ideas.â€
- What do I do if it rains?
A contingency plan is necessary for any event with an outdoor element. Talk with your food truck vendor in advance about adjustments that could be made in case of bad weather:
DuGaren Venues & Vineyards: “An option might be having your food truck vendor prepare food in the truck then serving it in a more traditional plated fashion or food stations. We have extra prep room in our on-site prep kitchen as wellâ€
- What are other ways to utilize a food truck?
DuGaren Venues & Vineyards: “Consider a late-night snack, mobile bar or desserts!â€
Food trucks come in so many different styles, from colorful retro-inspired rigs to more industrial-looking modern trucks. Whatever your style is, a food truck wedding can certainly be cost effective and uniquely, wonderful and fun!
Cheers!
